What is Emotional Health and Wellbeing?
Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EHWB) incorporates:
- Emotional wellbeing (including happiness, confidence and the opposite of depression)
- Psychological wellbeing (including autonomy, problem solving, resilience and attentiveness/involvement)
- Social wellbeing (good relationships with others, and the opposite of conduct disorder, delinquency, interpersonal violence and bullying)
Why is Developing EHWB so important?
Emotional wellbeing is critical in developing a healthy successful school community, including developing a pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural skills
When a school promotes positive emotional health and wellbeing pupils can better understand and express their feelings. This builds their confidence and emotional resilience and therefore their capacity to learn. For further information click here.
