Date Mayor’s Award Achieved: July 2014. Revalidated 2017.

An early advocate of Healthy Schools, St Barnabas initially achieved The Mayor’s Award for Excellence in 2014. The school has set out to reduce obesity by encouraging more children to eat a healthy school dinner. They did this by creating an enjoyable dining experience and incentivised fruit and vegetable consumption as part of their submission for the Mayor’s Award in 2014. In 2017, judges recognised the excellent cooking and growing opportunities, excellent PSHE teaching and great provisionon of sporting opportunities.
